Client Portal

Your clients, informed — without the phone tag.

Clients want to know where their matter stands without having to chase their lawyer. The Law360 client portal gives each client a secure, read-only window into their own matters: status updates, shared documents, invoices, and a direct messaging channel to the matter team. Clients see what the firm chooses to share with them — nothing more — so confidential internal workings and other clients’ matters are never visible.

1

Show clients where their matter stands

The portal leads with a clear matter status — Active, Awaiting Client, Awaiting Court, Pending — and a summary of recent activity. Clients always know the current position without needing to call, and the firm saves time on routine update calls.

2

Share documents selectively

The matter team decides which documents are shared with the client in the portal. Shared files appear in the client’s document view with their name, date, and a download link. Internal working documents, privileged communications, and other matter files stay out of the portal unless explicitly shared.

3

Message the matter team securely

Clients send messages through the portal rather than to personal email addresses. Messages are attached to the matter record, visible to the whole matter team, and form part of the file — so instructions are captured, acknowledged, and cannot be lost in a departed colleague’s inbox.

4

View and acknowledge invoices

Invoices are presented in the portal with their line items, amount due, and payment instructions. Clients acknowledge receipt within the portal, reducing the friction of invoice disputes and giving the billing team a timestamped acknowledgement.

5

Scope access to the client’s own matters

Portal access is strictly client-scoped. A client logged in sees only the matters the firm has opened for them, only the documents shared with them, and only the messages in their own threads. Cross-client visibility is architecturally impossible — not just a setting someone could misconfigure.

6

Access from any device

The portal is designed for mobile browsers as well as desktop, so clients can check a status update or download a document from their phone on the way to a meeting. No app to install, no special setup — just a browser and their login.
