Parent & Student Communication

Keep every family informed — through any channel they use.

Communication between school and home is one of the things parents value most and schools find hardest to do consistently. Edu360 gives schools a structured communication centre: broadcast announcements to the whole school or a specific class, send targeted SMS or email notifications, push alerts to parents who have the mobile app, and maintain a full message history so follow-up is straightforward. The parent and student portals surface the same information — results, fees, timetables, and news — so families have a single destination for everything related to their child’s education.

  • School-wide and class-level announcements
  • SMS, email, and push notifications
  • Parent portal with results and fee statements
  • Student portal with timetable and results

1

Send announcements to the whole school or a class

Compose an announcement in the communication centre and choose your audience — all parents, all students, a specific class, or a combination. The message goes out by the channels the recipient has enabled and appears on their portal notice board. Announcements carry a date and author so recipients know they are current.

2

Deliver via SMS, email, and push notification

Choose one or more channels per message. SMS reaches parents who do not have the app; email works for detailed content like a newsletter or policy update; push notifications from the app are instant and carry a deep link to the relevant portal section. Each parent and student configures their preferred channels from their account settings.

3

Give parents a portal they will actually use

The parent portal gives each guardian a personalised view of their child’s results, attendance, fee balance, timetable, and school announcements — all secured by their own login. Multiple children at the same school are accessible from a single parent account, which means one login, one view, fewer calls to the bursar’s office.

4

Give students their own portal

Students log into their own portal to view their timetable, results, attendance record, and school notices. The portal is read-only for academic records and controlled writes for permitted actions such as submitting coursework or applying for a gate pass, so students see everything relevant and change only what they are permitted to.

5

Track delivery and read status

The communication history shows every message sent — date, recipient group, channel, delivery status, and read count where the channel supports it. Staff can see which parents have not opened a fee reminder and follow up by phone, turning broadcast into a genuinely useful workflow.

6

Broadcast emergency messages instantly

When a school needs to reach every parent immediately — a closure, a security alert, a public health event — emergency broadcast mode sends a high-priority SMS to all registered guardian numbers at once, bypassing the usual channel preferences. The broadcast is logged with a timestamp and the staff member who initiated it.
