Payroll Tax & Statutory Reports
Accurate tax, correct returns, and the ledger updated automatically.
Payroll tax compliance is one of the highest-risk areas in HR operations. Hitaji ERP computes PAYE against the applicable tax tables, applies the correct statutory deductions — employer and employee NSSF and any other configured levies — and produces the reports and returns your statutory authorities require. When the run is committed, the payroll journal posts to the accounting ledger automatically, so payroll cost and liabilities land on the books without a separate accounting entry.

Compute PAYE from configured tax tables
Income tax is computed per employee using the chargeable income and the graduated tax table you configure — so rate changes at the start of a new financial year are a settings update, not a code change. The engine applies the correct bracket for each band of income and surfaces the PAYE liability per employee and in aggregate for the period.
Apply statutory deductions
Configure each statutory scheme — employee and employer NSSF rates, and any other regulatory contribution — and assign them to the applicable salary structures. During each run, the engine applies the current rates and computes both the employee deduction and the employer liability, so the full cost of employment is visible alongside net pay.
Maintain and update tax tables
Tax tables are managed in settings — annual income bands and their applicable rates — independently of the payroll computation logic. When the government announces new rates, finance updates the table for the new effective period and all subsequent runs pick up the change without touching code or configuration elsewhere.
Generate PAYE returns and NSSF schedules
After each pay run, generate the period PAYE return and NSSF schedule in the format the relevant authority expects — for upload or manual submission. The report covers every employee in the run with their gross pay, deductions, and contribution, aggregated to the totals the return requires.
Produce the payroll register
The payroll register is the authoritative record of every pay run: each employee’s gross, each component, all deductions, and net pay — in a single printable or exportable view. Finance uses it to reconcile the disbursement against the ledger; auditors use it as the source for any investigation.
Post the payroll journal to accounting
When the pay run is committed, a journal entry posts to the Hitaji ERP ledger automatically — debiting salary expense accounts per cost centre and crediting the payables for net pay, PAYE, and statutory contributions. Payroll and finance stay in lockstep without any manual bridging.
